|| Satsang-3A || (The REALITY - Intellectual understanding of it's presence)

Written on Guru Pournima day. (19th July 2016) Last time there was this article written ( http://punyaprakop.blogspot.ae/2016/06/satsang-3-dreams-real-purpose.html ) wherein we rationalized the fact, by scrutinizing the dream phenomena, that the mind contains power of creating an unreal world (thought world) from within and delude itself by its own creation and play inside as if it were an integral part of that world. Today, on this highly auspicious day of Guru Pournima, inspiration came to conclude the previous thread as an offering to my Guru Ramana Maharshi and Bhagavan Shiv. There are three states of Ego-consciousness (Ahamkaar/ Ego-mind/i-feeling) in our day to day experiences. They are 1) Wakeful 2) Dream and 3) Deep Sleep (Gaadh Nindra/Sushupti). Our Ego consciousness experiences these 3 states by turns and almost on daily basis.   Let’s try to scrutinize all these 3 states. For convenience, let me use “i” (small i) representing Ego-consciousness or Ego-Min...

Find out opposite (वियोग) to appreciate योग (yoga)

Last year i did write a small post on the occassion of 1st ever "International Day of Yoga" (IDY 2015) which can be read here. http://punyaprakop.blogspot.ae/2015/06/its-yogasana.html?m=1 Thought of just adding a few lines. Think of opposite word of योग. I.e. वियोग (Viyoga). Viyoga means to seperate/part/move away/loose. So its basically separation. On this 2nd योग दिवस (IDY 2016), besides yogāsans (physical postures), it would be highly appropriate & beneficial to ponder as to what is that from which we have been separated? What is that highly likely source of our individuality from which we have seemingly lost contact? From whom, we terribly suffer वियोग at deeper levels of our subconscious? Is there really any source in existance? Is there really any Viyoga we suffer? Or on the contrary, we possibly may have lost a definite source of infinite bliss (आनंद) & peace which we now,at every level of our existence, try to search in infinite objects & events......

|| Satsang-4 || Bhootnath

Who is Bhootnath? Shiva is the lord of Bhoots.. Who is Bhoot? Ego is the Bhoot! Ego (Ahamkaar) is the Bhoot. The one who is *not* but still appears to be.. Bhoot-nath = Lord of all Bhoots = Lord of all Egos Consciousness = Bhootnath = Lord of Bhoot (Ego) in Puranas, Shiva is shown as Bhootnath and those Bhoots are shown as Ghosts. In reality it must be an objectified way of presenting the eternal truth of the Upnishads....as consciousness being the master of what is not but appears to be (Bhoot/Ego) Shiva being in the 'Smashan' with 'Bhasm' (sacrifice of Ego) and wearing 'munds' (ultimate surrender) is also symbolic representation of the same truth...Shiva as consciousness adorns ITself with the 'sacrifice' of the 'false-self (ego) '.   THAT Shiva of Smashan is clearly the depiction of complete surrender and the  Shiva self reveling in it. The beautiful symbolism done by the great story tellers! Eventually meaning gets lost t...

|| Satsang-3 || (Dreams - The real purpose!)

4th June 2016 - शनी जयंती - वैशाख अमावस्या Dreams, which we commonly experience in sleep almost every night throughout our lives, are truly mesmerizing phenomenon.  The fascinating yet highly baffling state surely seems to have appealed many throughout the history of humankind. Eventually many texts have been written on it, spiritual giants have tried to decode it so also the commoners and philosophers alike, few popular beliefs are prevailing in societies and it must have been a hot topic of interest for the modern day psychiatrists as well. On few occasions, I sincerely ventured into decoding this dream thing with my own analytical faculty (Budhdhi) keeping aside any biases I may have had. The summary goes like this – [ There is this creation along with its infinite varieties, experienced by this particular body and mind in wakeful world. There is this constant “I” feeling within, which integrates this body & mind and works as a homogeneous whole (personality)...

शनीजयंति (Shani Jayanti) & Shanivaar!

Vaishākh Amāvasyā (4th June 2016, शनीवार) Namaste to all, This is a quick notification to all interested. Vaishākh Amāvasyā has started about an hour back today. It means that Shani Jayanti has started. (Although as per Panchāng, its 5th June but in reality its major part is on 4th June). The coincidence that it came on Shanivār (Saturday), its power and auspiciousness are increased manifold. Selfless desires & prayers for good of others and society at large as well as spiritual progress of ones Ego are best done today and night. Spiritual activities like Havan/Homam, Japa, Meditation, Donations to worthy, feeding poors and deprived etc... are the activities to be performed today IMHO. Today is the ideal day & night to pray Shani dev for Spiritual progress and also for society, country & the world at large! Those on Twitter may remember that 8th June 2013 was also the Shani Jayanti coinciding with Saturday. Many Natinalists Internet Hindus had prayed Shani Deva on t...

When a Sādhak (seeker of Truth) dives deep within with one pointed focus and explores deeper levels of the Consciousness, s(he) is likely to get divine wisdom uncommon to most of us mired deeply in the outer world. The certain Sādhak - "A"- whom I mentioned in the part 1 of this "Satsang" series, gave a refreshing import to one of the most popular Dohas of Kabeer, which supports the point I made at the start. People interested in spirituality are likely to enjoy this pearl of divine inner-worldly wisdom and enrich themselves. The Kabeer doha goes like this: चलती चक्की देख कर, दिया कबीरा रोय । दुई पाटन के बीचमें साबुत बचा न कोय ॥ (Chalati chakki dekh kar, diyā Kabeera roy | Duee pātan ke beechme sābut bachā nā koy ॥ ) Common understanding (as far as I know of including my own) of this couplet will be that Kabeer is in tears seeing that most beings are slowly, surely & heart-wrenchingly crushed and destroyed in this Sansār/repetitive cycle of ...

This post is about a small yet valuable exchange between two seekers of Truth walking on the path of “Atma Vichar”. One of the two seekers (Novice –N) was going through the acclaimed treaty called ‘Tripura Rahasya’. Tripura Rahasya is a celebrated Vedantic treaty of the same level   of Yoga Vaasishtha but probably less popular. It has been highly recommended by Ramana Maharshi and other spiritual masters. The YV is the discourse between Rishi Vasishtha (Guru) and Lord Ram (Disciple) whereas the TR contains the instructions of Guru Dattatreya and disciple Parashuram. Both, YV and TR instruct about the highest truth and also use many relevant analogies, stories and examples. ‘N’ came across few initial pages wherein human body is severely criticized (for the purpose of removing the attachment from the body pleasures) and sent those phrases to the other seeker who is wiser and more advanced (Advanced –A). ‘N’ wanted to provoke wisdom-filled comments from the fellow seeker ‘A...
